Rachael Morton

I am a registered social worker and clinical specialist (provisional) based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia. I have a Master of Social Work with a clinical focus from UBC Okanagan. I have been working as a helping professional and social worker in various positions in mental health, healthcare, and addictions for over 3 years. I have worked with folks experiencing trauma, injury, chronic illness, loss, and adverse life events. Previously, I worked as an emergency telecommunications operator which ignited my passion to support the mental health of first responders and vulnerable populations alike.

I use an anti-oppressive practice lens to support individuals through adverse life experiences. I have training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and utilize these modalities along with a blend of concepts from other therapeutic approaches like psychodynamic, humanistic, self-compassion, mindfulness, motivational interviewing and family systems theory.

I work with individuals ages 16 and up, couples and families.
