I am a Social Worker (Clinical Specialist Provisional). I completed my Masters of Social Work at Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2022 and completed my Bachelors of Social Work with Dalhousie University in 2018. I am registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW).
My approach to Psychotherapy involves fostering a compassionate and curious space for exploration and personal growth. I have a strong focus in compassionate listening with expression of empathy to help guide you through your own healing journey at your own pace.
My areas of focus include (but are not limited to): substance use, complex trauma (with a strong focus in trauma psychoeducation and nervous system regulation), anxiety, challenges with self-esteem. My practice has a focus on building skills in areas such as improving emotion and nervous system regulation, tools for managing anxiety, distress tolerance building, interpersonal skills building, including boundary setting, enhancing self-compassion and compassionately working within parts of the self.
I use evidence-based practices such as DBT and ACT informed approaches. Additionally, I have completed training for level I and II Complex Trauma Certification under the TIST (Trauma-Intensive Stabilization Treatment) model of Psychotherapy.
I am passionate about the work that I do and am grateful for the opportunity to enter into the lives of the diverse people I work with in a healing capacity.
